Voltage Sag Test Equipment -
The Porto-Sag

Since 1994, EPRI's Porto-Sag line of voltage sag generators have developed a proven reputation to be more versatile and user friendly than any other brands on the market. Our 200 Amp units have been in production since September 2001.

Utilizing up to three transformers, our units can create voltage sags that model "real life" events, not just test to a given standard. This is important when you want to make sure your equipment can ride-through voltage sags that have been recorded in past events. Unlike other units, the Porto-Sag allows the user to record and view the voltage sag data immediately. We are now shipping a Bi-Mode and Tri-Mode option for our standard 200A product.

Our Porto-Sag line is built to conform to IEC 61000-4-11, 61000-4-34, and SEMI F42/SEMI F47 and the revised SEMI F47-0706.  Specification sheets for our 30, 100, and 200 amp versions of our equipment are can be downloaded below.

The Porto-Sag simplifies voltage sag testing by integrating the sag generator hardware and data acquisition software into one package.  Key features include:

  • Versatile control of voltage sag magnitude.  Sag magnitudes are continuously variable between 0% and 100% of nominal voltage.  Three phases are independently variable, allowing unbalanced sags.
  • Can be used for testing single-, two-, and three-phase loads.
  • Flexible voltage sag durations ranging from one quarter (¼) cycle to 3 seconds in one quarter (¼) cycle increments.
  • Solid-state switching allows 1 degree point-on-wave control from 0 to 359 degrees.
  • Voltage sag waveforms can be saved in multiple formats for easy reporting.  Available formats include text, bitmap, and metafile.
  • Universal input control power (100 to 264Vac, 50 or 60Hz).
  • Includes emergency off safety circuit for removing power to the connected load.
  • Built-in current transformers to monitor three-phase load current.
  • Software runs under Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, XP, 2000 and NT.
  • Meets testing requirements for IEC 61000-4-11, SEMI F42/F47 and the Revised SEMI F47 (SEMI F47-0706)
